There are areas of the kitchen that are not normally visible. The top of the cupboards is one… things get stored up there, but we never really look up on top, and it doesn’t get wiped down like the other surfaces.

So I made the mistake of wanting to sort something out on top of the cupboards, and actually looked at the surface. Ugh. Sticky grease that won’t just wipe off. Soapy water and a lot of elbow grease works, but dissolving it with isopropyl alcohol did it much faster.

It’s took an hour to clean the lot, and now we can leave it for another few years before looking again. Real lesson learnt: some things are best left hidden!
